A graduate and two time All-American at USC, he has endeavored to provide his students and coaches with the best information currently available. Carrie Strom
Carrie has pursued physical fitness since she was twenty. In 1979, she won the Mrs. American National contest. Her speaking platform was “Fitness at Any Age.” She is NESTA certified in Aqua Logix. As an avid swimmer, she has traded in her weights” for this water exercise program that offers 790 times the resistance of any land exercise. The muscles are built simultaneously with Aqua Logix. A person no longer has to work out the arms and upper body on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and lower body on Tuesday and Thursday. Through the weightlessness of the water and the resistance, the entire body is exercised at once. The program is only limited by your imagination. She teaches the basic program with added exercises that are helpful for the specific sports played. The pros are doing Aqua Logix so why shouldn’t you! Carrie also holds a NESTA certification in Nutrition and will be offering individual consultation to those who wish to be completely holistic in the approach to fitness. To exercise without solid nutrition is like running a car with an empty radiator…. "You just won’t go too far!”
Craig Bjornson
Craig is a minor league pitching coach for the Colorado Rockies. Fluent in Spanish and having been in professional baseball since 1999, Craig has also coached with the Expos/Nationals and Dodgers. A graduate of Nichols State, he pitched professionally for three years after graduating from Nichols State University. Known for his “outside the box” thinking, Craig is a valuable member of SBI. Craig never allows assumptions to stand without looking at different possibilities. He has a teaching style that allows players to be relaxed. His teaching knowledge is invaluable. His understanding of how the arm functions, movement patterns of the arm and middle of the body along with arm health makes him a sought after coach and clinician.
Doug White
Doug is currently a minor league pitching instructor with the St. Louis Cardinals. He is the founder of “ The Passion for Pitching” program. It was developed over time while working with youth as well as professional pitchers. Doug has studied under many of the leading pitching experts around the country. Besides hands on experience, Doug continues to look for ways to improve the efficiency and health of his pitchers. He is a Z Health certified trainer in 4 phases (R,I,S,T). A new and exciting way to look at joint mobility and more. Doug brings energy, a sports knowledge base, and as his academy indicates “Passion” to the pitching field.
Tim Leveque
Tim is a pitching coach in the St. Louis Cardinals organization. Drafted by the Detroit Tigers out of the University of Michigan where he received his degree in Sports Management by the Detroit Tigers an arm injury limited his chances of pursuing a professional career. He immediately went to work in the front office of the Milwaukee Brewers prior to his present employment with the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals created a new position … one of identifying efficient and non-efficient pitchers with the use of technology. A master of technology, Tim’s own unique system gives some objectivity to decisions made by the Cardinals as the decisions pertain to the draft. To place that much responsibility on a young coach speaks volumes of the respect St. Louis has for Tim. We are glad to have him on our staff at SBI.
Ryan Crotin
Ryan is an associate minor league strength coach in the St. Louis organization and currently a doctorate student in Kinesiology at the University of Buffalo. His research pertains to neuromuscular and cardiovascular physiology and its impact upon pitching biomechanics, throwing arm health, and performance. His belief in the concept of individuality, peer - reviewed science, and the integration of multiple training stresses makes him one of the top newcomers in the field. His program along with SBI is derived from a wide variety of movement programs derived from other sports. Besides being in academia, Ryan competed professionally in independent baseball leagues across the US, Canada, Germany, Australia and Israel. SBI is very fortunate to have Ryan as part of our team.
